Porcelain Veneers in Thornton, CO

The Simple and Versatile Way
to Enhance Your Smile

As we age, our teeth become susceptible to discoloration and damage. From your morning latte fix to taking a tumble on a hike, there are many daily activities that can stain and damage your teeth, which can start to impact your self-confidence. Luckily, cosmetic dentistry means you have plenty of options to improve your smile! Dr. Lori Trembath, our cosmetic dentist in Thornton, CO, has a special interest in anterior aesthetics – meaning she is super talented when it comes to fixing teeth towards the front of the mouth (which are most visible!). That’s why one of our most highly recommended treatments is porcelain veneers to give you a full smile makeover with just one treatment!

What exactly are veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that are bonded to the enamel of your teeth, which serves as a protective covering around each tooth. Not only do veneers improve the appearance of your teeth by making them look whiter and more uniform, but they also protect your teeth from external damage and prevent future stains from developing on the surface of your teeth.

Some concerns veneers can address:

  • Discoloration and whitening-resistant stains, especially those caused by medications
  • Chips and cracks
  • Gaps
  • Misalignment
  • Misshapen or uneven teeth

Why Choose Veneers?

  • They look very natural because porcelain closely mimics the translucency and texture of your own teeth. This means that your veneers blend seamlessly with the rest of your teeth when you smile.
  • Veneers are highly stain-resistant, so you won’t have to ditch your coffee or red wine habits to maintain your bright smile.
  • They are a durable solution to chipped, cracked, or slightly misaligned teeth, often lasting for many years with proper care.
  • The process of getting veneers is minimally invasive, preserving more of your natural tooth structure compared to other cosmetic procedures like dental crowns.

What To Expect

Are you curious about what to expect when getting veneers at Trembath Dentistry? Let’s explore the process from start to finish.

First, we’ll set up a consultation with Dr. Trembath to discuss your smile goals and assess whether veneers are the best treatment for you. This is a great time to ask all your questions and express any concerns you might have. We want to make sure you feel informed and comfortable with the process.

Once we decide to go ahead with veneers, the next step is to prepare your teeth. This usually involves a small amount of reshaping of the front surface of your teeth – just enough to make room for the veneers to fit perfectly and look natural. Don’t worry, it’s minimal and we make sure you’re comfortable throughout the process.

Next, we’ll take digital impressions of your mouth to create a 3D model of your mouth and veneers. This model is then sent to our lab where your custom veneers are created to match the color and shape that best fit your smile. This can take a couple of weeks but you won’t need to walk around with shaven down teeth – we’ll make you up some temporary ceramic veneers to protect your teeth and keep your smile looking great during the wait.

You’ll come back for your final fitting as soon as your veneers are ready! Dr. Trembath will place the veneers on your teeth to check they fit comfortably and make any necessary adjustments to ensure they look and feel just right. When you’re both happy with how they look, she’ll permanently bond them to your teeth, and voilà! You leave our office with a brand-new smile.

What Are My Other Options?

Porcelain veneers are a fantastic option for enhancing your smile but many patients are put off by how permanent they are or by budget constraints. Let’s explore some alternatives to see what might work better for you.

Same-Day Crowns

This is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a quick and efficient way to restore a tooth that’s been damaged or is severely decayed. Traditional crowns require multiple visits to our office but same-day crowns re-imagine the process by enabling crowns to be fabricated and placed during a single appointment using advanced CEREC technology. This means less time in the dental chair and no need for temporary crowns while you wait for your permanent restoration.

Composite Bonding

Dental bonding is a less invasive and more cost-effective alternative to veneers. We apply a tooth-colored resin to the surface of your teeth and then shape and harden the material with a special lamp. Composite bonding can be a great choice for correcting minor chips, cracks, or gaps in your teeth. Our patients love that they only need to come in for one appointment and that little to no tooth enamel needs to be removed.

CEREC Veneers

CEREC veneers are crafted using sophisticated CAD/CAM technology but focus on aesthetic improvement rather than restorative. This technology allows us to design, create, and place ceramic veneers in just one visit, which means there’s no need for multiple appointments and temporary veneers. This is particularly appealing for busy individuals who want quick results without sacrificing quality. CEREC veneers are made from high-quality ceramic which makes them very durable and give a natural look that closely matches your existing teeth.
